Description
The Law Offices of Kenneth N. Flaxman P.C. is a small practice group in Chicago, Illinois, concentrating in federal civil litigation, predominantly civil rights (police misconduct and employment discrimination) cases, intermixed with criminal defense and general litigation.
The principal of the firm, Kenneth N. Flaxman, has been litigating cases at all levels of the federal and state court systems for more than 30 years.
Flaxman has successfully prosecuted several significant civil rights cases, including a lawsuit against Calumet City, Illinois that secured a 5.4 million dollar settlement for more than 300 women who had been strip-searched after arrests on minor charges. Flaxman is currently prosecuting another large class action for persons arrested for having violated an unwritten "loitering" ordinance in the City of Harvey, Illinois.
Flaxman's practice takes him from the first level criminal courts in the State of Illinois to state and federal appellate courts. The bulk of Flaxman's practice is in the federal courts. Flaxman has argued more than 200 appeals, including four matters before the United States Supreme Court.
